Case Study – City & Urban Security Application

Equipping Bondy City Hall with robust and autonomous emergency call points

Background

City & Urban Security Application

Faced with a context marked by the rise in anti-social behavior and assaults in urban areas, the issue of resident safety has become a central concern for Bondy City Hall. The municipality wished to strengthen its protection measures in areas where the feeling of insecurity was strongest.

In this framework, A2S was called upon for its expertise in complex environments to provide an emergency communication solution capable of operating autonomously and reliably in the heart of public spaces.

Project Objectives

The main objective was to deploy a network of emergency call points accessible 24/7, allowing users to immediately report an assault or a critical situation. The system had to meet the following requirements:

Challenges Encountered

The installation of electronic equipment in sensitive urban environments imposes severe constraints that the solution absolutely had to overcome:

Resistance to vandalism

The equipment had to be capable of withstanding frequent attempts at damage (shocks, graffiti) in certain neighborhoods.

Power supply security

It was necessary to prevent any risk of sabotage or intentional power cuts.

Lack of wired connectivity

In the absence of a wired telephone network, the solution had to communicate autonomously.

Strong visual identity

The local authority required a bright red color to signal an emergency, a non-standard specification.

Solution Proposed by A2S

To address these public safety challenges, A2S recommended and installed the ISIS model emergency call point, operating on GSM technology.
The call points were strategically deployed throughout the city, targeting priority areas defined by police services and resident feedback.

Key Features of the Solution
Embedded GSM Communication

A direct connection with police services via the mobile network, eliminating the need for costly and complex telephone wiring.

Ultra-resistant structure

An anti-vandal steel chassis with anti-graffiti paint, and reinforced grilles protecting the microphone and speaker.

Emergency Ergonomics

A single call button allows the alert to be triggered without any complex procedures for a stressed user.

Secure Installation

A modified design to protect the vital components of the call point from public access.

The A2S VOICE Advantages?

On this project, A2S stood out through its technical adaptability and comprehensive support:

1) Technical Customization

To meet anti-sabotage requirements, A2S modified the call point: the power supply was moved to the rear and protected by an armored cover, making it completely inaccessible to the public.

2) Custom Aesthetic Design

The call points were manufactured in a specific bright red to ensure immediate identification as help points.

3) Deployment Support

A2S collaborated closely with municipal services to validate locations and conduct real-world call tests, guaranteeing the reliability of the system.

Deployment and Integration

The installation was designed to minimize civil engineering works thanks to the choice of GSM (wireless) technology. The implementation phase included:

Results

The commissioning of the ISIS call points provided a concrete response to the municipality’s insecurity issues, with very positive feedback from the local authority.

Conclusion

This project conducted for Bondy City Hall illustrates A2S VOICE’s ability to design custom, durable, and innovative public safety solutions. By precisely adapting its technology to urban constraints (vandalism, autonomy, visibility), A2S VOICE actively contributed to the city’s public peace, an experience that can be replicated for other municipalities in sensitive areas.
